Volleyball Recap: Langston Hughes' Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Langston Hughes had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Griffin Bears by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

While Langston Hughes won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22.

Zoey Pierre paced Langston Hughes' offense, picking up seven kills. Pierre got some help from Destiny Glover and her ten assists. Glover was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Langston Hughes' victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Griffin, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Langston Hughes will head out to square off against Douglas County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Griffin, they will host Luella at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
