Baseball Recap: Jackson County Comes Up Short

If Jackson County was riding high fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Owsley County on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Generals fell just short of the Floyd Central Jaguars by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Jackson County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. As for Floyd Central, their record now sits at 12-13.

Looking ahead, Jackson County will square off against South Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Floyd Central, they will face off against Letcher County Central at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
