Soccer Game Preview: Fishburne Military vs. New Covenant

Fishburne Military hasn't had much luck against New Covenant recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Caissons are taking a road trip to face off against the Gryphons at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fishburne Military played against Virginia School for the Deaf & Blind on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

New Covenant proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They beat Virginia Episcopal School by a goal, winning 3-2. Evan Bosak had the honor of scoring the game-winner for New Covenant.

New Covenant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those eight matches. As for Fishburne Military, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Fishburne Military might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from New Covenant in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Caissons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
