Basketball Recap: Red Rock Central Comes Up Short

Red Rock Central lost a heartbreaker to Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda when they met back in January, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Red Rock Central Falcons took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the Coyotes from their previous meeting back in January.

Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda was led to victory by Bryce Nielsen and Cole Schmidt. Nielsen dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards, while Schmidt posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Schmidt a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Caleb Appel, who put up nine points.

Red Rock Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Red Rock Central will host Hills-Beaver Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, they will venture away from home to take on Minneota at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
