Softball Game Preview: Cahokia Comanches vs. Centralia Orphans

Cahokia is 0-10 against Centralia since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Comanches will host the Orphans at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Cahokia is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 21st straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-0 to Carbondale, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Centralia waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Comets a 2-0 shutout. The Orphans' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Centralia pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cahokia, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
