Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Falcons vs. Mishawaka Cavemen

The Fairfield Falcons will face off against the Mishawaka Cavemen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fairfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Fairfield proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Jimtown 6-5.

Logan Miller looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eli Miller, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Fairfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jimtown struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Mishawaka's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goshen on Monday. The Cavemen's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Colton Handley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Mishawaka saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shawn Nowacki, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Mishawaka's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
