Basketball Preview: Richfield Wildcats vs. Juab Wasps
Richfield has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Juab Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Richfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Richfield at home against the Hawks as the team secured a 62-31 victory.
Richfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jorgen Southwick, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Malik Fautin, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Juab suffered their closest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Delta by a score of 56-53. Juab has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Richfield pushed their record up to 13-7 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Juab, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Richfield took their win against the Wasps when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 48-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Richfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
