Softball Recap: Powhatan Takes a Loss

After flying high against Thomas Dale on Monday, Powhatan came back down to earth. The Indians took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midlothian Trojans on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Powhatan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Gobble, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Powhatan's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Midlothian, they pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powhatan will welcome Richmond High School for the Arts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Midlothian, they will take on Hanover at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
