Basketball Recap: Newtown Takes a Loss

After flying high against Long Island City back in December of 2024, Newtown came back down to earth. The Newtown Pioneers fell to the Hillcrest Hawks 45-41.

Newtown has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Hillcrest, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Newtown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 38-23 victory against Cardozo on the 6th. As for Hillcrest, they will welcome Francis Lewis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
