Basketball Recap: Howland Comes Up Short

Howland lost against Harding on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Howland Tigers lost to the Harding Raiders at home by a 68-50 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Raiders are ranked 18th).

Despite the loss, Howland still got an impressive performance from Steven Bubon, who went 6 of 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Bubon a new career-high in points. Luca Naples was another key player, putting up seven points.

Howland is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7. As for Harding, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-2.

Howland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-37 defeat against Canfield on the 28th. Harding has also already played their next contest, a 72-67 loss against Washington on the 28th.
