Softball Game Preview: Riverview Academy of Math and Science Barracudas vs. Santa Fe Catholic Hawks

The Riverview Academy of Math and Science Barracudas are taking a road trip to square off against the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverview Academy of Math and Science has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while Santa Fe Catholic will come in with five straight victories.

Claire McGee made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Kindra Kelch was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Felicia Parker was another key player, scoring four runs while going 1-for-3.

Santa Fe Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .576 or higher in three consecutive games.

Santa Fe Catholic pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
