Basketball Recap: Reed-Custer Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Harlie Liebermann and Alyssa Wollenzien

Reed-Custer played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 41-21 to the Manteno Panthers. The Comets were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in January.

Reed-Custer's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alyssa Wollenzien, who posted nine points and four steals, and Harlie Liebermann, who had six points and five rebounds. Wollenzien is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Reed-Custer's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Manteno, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Reed-Custer won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Prairie Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manteno, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Manteno Panthers take on the Lisle Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Manteno's defense has only allowed 24.2 points per game this season, so Lisle's offense will have their work cut out for them.
