Preview: Pierce Bluejays vs. West Point-Beemer Cadets

After two games on the road, Pierce is heading back home. The Pierce Bluejays and the West Point-Beemer Cadets will face off on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Pierce didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Battle Creek, but they still walked away with a 31-27 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Pierce's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Battle Creek is ranked 14th).

West Point-Beemer posted their closest victory yet this season on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Wisner-Pilger out 47-44. The win was just what West Point-Beemer needed coming off of a 63-28 defeat in their prior contest.

Allie Kaup continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Mia Hunke was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Pierce has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for West Point-Beemer, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7.

Pierce couldn't quite finish off West Point-Beemer in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 and fell 45-43. Will Pierce have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
