Baseball Game Preview: Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack vs. Dallas Mountaineers

Wilkes-Barre is 0-8 against Dallas since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. Wilkes-Barre will face off against Dallas at 4:15 p.m. This will be Wilkes-Barre's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Last Thursday, Wilkes-Barre came up short against Honesdale and fell 6-1. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nathan Fritz was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Dallas suffered their closest loss since March 28, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Scranton by a score of 6-4.

Dominick Zangardi put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Zangardi was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Kaden Coyne made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Wilkes-Barre's record is now 3-3. As for Dallas, their record is now 1-1.

Wilkes-Barre suffered a grim 17-4 defeat to Dallas in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Wilkes-Barre avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
