Football Recap: Jones Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jones extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Pamlico County Hurricanes, falling 33-8. The Trojans lost against the Hurricanes in their previous head to head back in October of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 55-0 score last time.

Pamlico County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Pamlico County had a senior duo take command as Treyvon Munford rushed for 128 yards and three scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry and Kamden Keyes rushed for 149 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Those 128 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Munford.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones will square off against Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pamlico County, they will challenge Northside - Pinetown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
