Basketball Recap: Kierstyn Kaiser Key Part of Team Effort in Panthers Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Evansville Reitz faced off against Evansville Mater Dei on Wednesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 51-43. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.

Evansville Reitz got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kierstyn Kaiser out in front who shot 75% from the field on her way to 15 points and four steals. Those 15 points gave Kaiser a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keilah Mitchell, who went 7-for-13 en route to 18 points.

Evansville Reitz's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Evansville Mater Dei, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2.

Coming up, Evansville Reitz will challenge Floyd Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Evansville Mater Dei, they will take on Roncalli at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
