Volleyball Recap: Slidell Tigers vs. Northshore Panthers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Slidell had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Northshore Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

While Slidell won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-17, 25-23.

Slidell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Spilling led the charge by getting 15 digs. Spilling has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Labat, who had 12 digs, three kills, and a block.

Slidell's victory bumped their record up to 38-4. As for Northshore, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 22-17.

Slidell has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against St. Mary's Dominican on the 16th. Northshore does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
