Basketball Recap: Gospel Light Christian Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Gospel Light Christian won the last time they faced Vandalia Christian and things went their way on Saturday too. Gospel Light Christian managed a 56-50 victory over the Vandalia Christian Vikings. Given Gospel Light Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Vandalia Christian is ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vandalia Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Chase Buie and Izzi Settle. Buie posted 17 points and eight rebounds, while Settle had 17 points and five assists. Buie is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Isaiah Davis was another key player, putting up six points.

Gospel Light Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Vandalia Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-19 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Gospel Light Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against Vandalia Christian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
