Baseball Recap: Crystal City Triumphs

While Crystal City put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Natalia. The Javelinas came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 4-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 back in March.

Christopher Mena made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mena wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eric Garcia, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Garcia's first of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Crystal City and bumps their season record up to 12-9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Natalia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
