Football Game Preview: Nanih Waiya Warriors vs. Lumberton Panthers + Official Tickets

The Nanih Waiya Warriors will square off against the Lumberton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nanih Waiya will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Nanih Waiya is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against West Bolivar as they made off with a 50-28 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Nanih Waiya's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Korben Sanders, who rushed for 220 yards and four scores on only 14 carries, and Kade Massey, who rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Sanders' longest rush was for an incredible 90 yards. Sanjiya Austin got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nanih Waiya was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 382 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 225 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Nanih Waiya's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Sanders, Carmello Austin, and Kamryn Crosby, who each picked up one sack apiece. Sanjiya got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lumberton). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Salem 60-18. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Nanih Waiya's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lumberton, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
