The Spring Lions will head out to face off against the Dekaney Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dekaney took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Spring, who comes in off a win.

While Spring's win against MacArthur wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions slipped by the Generals 19-18 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won nine in a row.

Vincent Lee went supernova, rushing for 179 yards while picking up 11.2 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Spring was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 204 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Spring didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dominique Strange, Landon Prowell, and Chase Lewis picked up one apiece. Another thorn in MacArthur's side was Jonah Espinosa, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Dekaney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 20-6 fall against Eisenhower.

Spring's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Dekaney, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-6.

Spring came out on top in a nail-biter against Dekaney in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 34-32. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Wildcats' David Edmondson, who threw for 165 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 101 yards on only 14 carries.
