Basketball Preview: Noblesville Millers vs. Liberty Christian Lions

The Noblesville Millers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Liberty Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Noblesville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.

Noblesville can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 57-26 win over Mt. Vernon. Given Noblesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Marauders are ranked 41st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Noblesville can attribute much of their success to Justin Curry II, who scored 18 points, and Aaron Fine, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Curry II has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Walston, who scored two points along with five assists and five steals.

Meanwhile, Liberty Christian was the victim of a rough 74-51 defeat at the hands of the Bears on Saturday. Liberty Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Noblesville's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Liberty Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Everything came up roses for Noblesville against the Lions in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 77-40 win. Will Noblesville repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
