Basketball Recap: Stargate School Takes a Loss

Stargate School lost against Forge Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Stargate School Eagles took a 32-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forge Christian Fury. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Sloan Kunz was Stargate School's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Soonjin Yoon held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. Ava Ridgell took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Forge Christian found their leader in sophomore Finley Queen, who went 8-for-19 on her way to 19 points along with five boards and five steals. Queen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Stargate School's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Forge Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.

Coming up, Stargate School will square off against The Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Stargate School is facing The Academy at the right time seeing as The Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Forge Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Strasburg at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
