Volleyball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Falls to Cherry Creek in First Game of Season

Vista PEAK Prep unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Cherry Creek Bruins by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Bison didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bruins 25-21 in the first set.

Vista PEAK Prep wouldn't go down easily and took Cherry Creek into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-17, 17-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Tristan Rowley paced Vista PEAK Prep's offense, picking up 18 kills. Rowley got some help from Ein Bamba and his 34 assists. Finally, Rowley was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.

Cherry Creek's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Vista PEAK Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Riverdale Ridge on the 6th. As for Cherry Creek, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Legend on the 6th.
