Basketball Recap: Pasquotank County Takes a Loss

Pasquotank County lost against Northeastern back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pasquotank County Panthers took a blow against the Northeastern Eagles, falling 66-28. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while the Eagles are ranked 173rd).

Despite the loss, Pasquotank County still got an impressive performance from Anylah Bowe, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Bowe has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more blocks the last 36 times she's played. Kaliyah Jackson also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Pasquotank County moved to 5-11 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Northeastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Pasquotank County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 47-23 win against Manteo on the 3rd. Northeastern has also already played their next game (against Camden County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
