Basketball Recap: Concord Christian Gets the Win

Concord Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They snuck past Providence Academy with a 48-43 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Providence Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kinley Painter, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Painter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Myla Johnson, who had 11 points and seven boards.

The win got Concord Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Providence Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Concord Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 81-32 victory against First Baptist Academy on the 16th. As for Providence Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Union County at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
