Softball Recap: Bloomington North Cougars vs. Mooresville Pioneers

Bloomington North had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-10 to make it 13. They fell 10-6 to the Mooresville Pioneers. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 11-2 to the Pioneers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brylee Moore was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Kendon Galligher also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Mooresville, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-11 record. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

On Mooresville's side, Tatum Humphrey was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave Humphrey a new career-high. Josie Profitt was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Bloomington North will venture away from home to challenge New Albany at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mooresville, they will host Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
