Volleyball Recap: Collegiate Spartans vs. Circle Thunderbirds

Collegiate lost against Circle back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Collegiate sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-10.

Carlyle Johnson paced Collegiate's offense, picking up 16 kills. Johnson were helped by Clara Monahan and Maddie Ternes, who contributed nine assists each.

Circle was led to victory by Brianna Paul and Emmerson Haskins. Paul had 23 digs and three assists, while Haskins had 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs gave Haskins a new career-high.

Collegiate has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Circle, they pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Collegiate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Pratt on the 4th. As for Circle, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against El Dorado on the 30th.
