There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. That and more in this week's report.
This Week's Big Showdown
On paper, the match between Sioux Falls Christian (8th in the power rankings) and Tea (6th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. Sioux Falls Christian received a tough blow as it fell 36 - 16 to Tea. Sioux Falls Christian lost a lot of ground in this match: the team forfeited four spots in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan will have a better view of things this week after its strong showing last week propelled it three spots up the power rankings. That was the biggest rise of the week. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Sioux Valley, finishing up at 55 - 12. Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Brandon Valley (7th in the power rankings) and O'Gorman (1st). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. O'Gorman and Brandon Valley both have plenty of landslide victories under their belts (O'Gorman with six and Brandon Valley with four), but only one can come away triumphant this week. We'll find out who that is soon.
