Volleyball Game Preview: Mourning Sharks vs. Miami Beach Hi-Tides

The Mourning Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the Miami Beach Hi-Tides at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Mourning not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 12, 2024. Everything went their way against Sports Leadership & Management as Mourning made off with a 3-0 victory.

The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-22.

Juan Clavijo and Fabio Abuchaibeavila were among the main playmakers for Mourning as the former had 19 digs and the latter had six digs, four aces, and two blocks. Clavijo is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least 19 every time he's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Miami Beach made easy work of International Studies on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hi-Tides.

Miami Beach's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Mourning, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Mourning suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Miami Beach when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Mourning avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
