Softball Game Preview: Mishawaka Cavemen vs. New Prairie Cougars

The Mishawaka Cavemen will square off against the New Prairie Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Mishawaka made easy work of Wawasee and carried off a 19-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cavemen, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, New Prairie waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Knights.

New Prairie's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mishawaka, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
