Softball Recap: West Warriors vs. Arlington Lions

With a playoff game on the line, West rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Arlington Lions and snuck past 4-2. The win was nothing new for West as they're now sitting on seven straight.

For Arlington's part, Itzel Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits. Hernandez has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in 21 consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Arlington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Puentes, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.

West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Arlington, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.
