Baseball Recap: Nash Central Beats Bunn for Their Fifth Straight Win

Nash Central had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Bunn Wildcats. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 4-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Peyton Harris tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Jackson Lynch was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Justin Langley, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Nash Central pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bunn, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 15-1.

Nash Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
