Volleyball Recap: Shady Spring Triumphs

Shady Spring won the last time they faced Independence and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Patriots.

Shady Spring easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-12.

Alessandra (Allie) Fragile paced Shady Spring's offense, picking up six kills. Fragile got some help from Reagan Mann and her eight assists. Fragile was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The win got Shady Spring back to even at 1-1. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shady Spring will challenge George Washington at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Independence, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against James Monroe at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
