Fargo Davies came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Valley City Hi-Liners with a sharp 12-2 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cayden Neuharth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Wyatt Kosidowski was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gus Pankratz, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Fargo Davies always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley City only posted an OBP of .318.

Fargo Davies pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Valley City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fargo Davies beat the Hi-Liners by a score of 16-1 later that day.
