Baseball Game Preview: Cumberland Beavers vs. Northwestern Tigers

Cumberland is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Northwestern a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Cumberland Beavers will host the Northwestern Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Cumberland turned things around against Ladysmith on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Lumberjacks.

Cooper Schramski was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Max Peterson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five game, Northwestern brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over Ladysmith on Thursday. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Northwestern now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Cumberland, their win bumped their record up to 4-13.
