Basketball Recap: Newberry Comes Up Short

Newberry lost against Irmo back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Newberry Bulldogs were dealt a 73-37 loss at the hands of the Irmo Yellow Jackets. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Irmo got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Christian Brown out in front who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Anderson, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.

Newberry's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Irmo, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Newberry will face off against Mid-Carolina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newberry is facing Mid-Carolina at the right time seeing as Mid-Carolina is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Irmo, they will square off against Spring Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Irmo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season.
