Football Game Preview: Marriotts Ridge Mustangs vs. Reservoir 'Gators

The Marriotts Ridge Mustangs will challenge the Reservoir 'Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Marriotts Ridge is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Glenelg on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs took a blow against the Gladiators, falling 42-14. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Gladiators: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Reservoir scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Guilford Park. While the 'Gators had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Panther 6-0.

Reservoir's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Marriotts Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Marriotts Ridge was able to grind out a solid victory over Reservoir when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 14-7. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the 'Gators turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
