Basketball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin suffered their biggest loss since February 6, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 95-62 defeat at the hands of the Garfield Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Quakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 11th).

Franklin's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Garfield, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Franklin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ballard at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Franklin's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games. As for Garfield, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Eastside Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Garfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matches -- so hopefully Eastside Catholic likes a good challenge.
