Volleyball Recap: Kerr-Vance Academy Takes a Loss

Kerr-Vance Academy was the 3-1 winner over The Oakwood School when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Kerr-Vance Academy took The Oakwood School into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-13, 20-25, 25-17, 15-10.

Marie Scott White paced Kerr-Vance Academy's offense, picking up 18 kills. White got some help from Emma Caudle and her 26 assists. Caudle and White didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with eight apiece.

Kerr-Vance Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for The Oakwood School, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Kerr-Vance Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lawrence Academy on the 24th. As for The Oakwood School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Albemarle School on the 25th.
