Preview: Champlin Park Rebels vs. Wayzata Trojans
The Champlin Park Rebels will be playing at home against the Wayzata Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Champlin Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Century, taking the game 66-58. The victory was just what Champlin Park needed coming off of a 82-41 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Wayzata's 23-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 89-85 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rosemount.
Despite the defeat, Wayzata saw an underclassman step up: Kate Amelotte scored 29 points. The matchup was Amelotte's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Burns, who scored 16 points.
The win got Champlin Park back to even at 1-1. As for Wayzata, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
