Soccer Game Preview: Chaparral vs. Lewis-Palmer

The Chaparral Wolverines will head out to take on the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Chaparral is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Rock Canyon on Thursday. The Wolverines fell 2-0 to the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, Chaparral can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Rock Canyon are ranked 45th).

Lewis-Palmer hadn't beaten Skyline on the road since August 30, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Rangers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons, sneaking past 2-1.

Lewis-Palmer's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6-3.

Chaparral beat Lewis-Palmer 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
