Basketball Game Preview: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. Orange Lions

The Mineral Ridge Rams will challenge the Orange Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Orange took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Mineral Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Orange will be up against a hot Mineral Ridge team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Mineral Ridge sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 victory over Waterloo on Friday.

It was another big night for Chase Moore, who posted 29 points. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. Jordan Moore was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Orange came up short against Harvey on Friday and fell 58-47. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Mineral Ridge will have to contain Major Calhoun as he made an impact in Orange's last game. He went 8 for 17 en route to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Calhoun a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jhamir Smith, who scored five points.

Orange's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Mineral Ridge, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
