Baseball Game Preview: New Canaan Rams vs. St. Joseph Cadets

The New Canaan Rams are taking a road trip to take on the St. Joseph Cadets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. New Canaan is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

New Canaan is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Bridgeport Central 16-5 on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Rams with their most commanding win of the season.

New Canaan got a great performance from Wes Gallo as he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave Gallo a new career-high.

At the plate, Adrian Delicata was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Hickey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 4-1 to McMahon.

New Canaan's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

New Canaan beat St. Joseph 3-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
