Baseball Recap: Little Cypress-Mauriceville Beats Jasper for Their Fourth Straight Win

Little Cypress-Mauriceville extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 22-5 in the process. Everything went their way against the Jasper Bulldogs as they made off with a 10-1 victory. Considering the Bears have won 16 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Jasper, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row.

For Jasper's part, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Beatty, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Little Cypress-Mauriceville is set to challenge their familiar foe Bridge City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 1.8, the Cardinals 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Jasper will square off against rival West Orange-Stark at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
