The Marshall Barristers will head out to square off against the Garfield Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshall is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

While Marshall's win against Lincoln wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Barristers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Tigers 7-6.

Cheyenne Velis was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Those stolen bases were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Carrera, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Garfield came up short against Legacy on Friday, falling 11-1. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Garfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jema Aguiar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Marshall's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Garfield, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Marshall has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Garfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Marshall couldn't quite get it done against Garfield in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Barristers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
