Softball Recap: Interlachen Takes a Loss

Interlachen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Taylor Wildcats, falling 20-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 13-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Interlachen saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baileigh Riddley, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Riddley a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Interlachen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Interlachen's record now sits at 2-7. As for Taylor, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Interlachen will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Marion at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th. North Marion has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.8 runs per game on average), something Interlachen will no doubt try to take advantage of. Taylor will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Pine Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th. Pine Ridge has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.89 runs per game on average), something Taylor will no doubt try to take advantage of.
