Basketball Recap: Maclay Takes a Loss

Maclay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Brookwood Warriors and fell 58-25. The game marked the Marauders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Maclay lost, don't look at Beau Beshears. Despite the final result, he posted four points along with five rebounds and three steals. Beshears has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played.

Maclay's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Brookwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.

Maclay will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Blountstown at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. Brookwood and Citizens Christian Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
