Volleyball Recap: Ironwood Ridge Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If Flowing Wells wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Ironwood Ridge, they should've done a better job of containing Jayce Soto-Balin. The Nighthawks had just enough and edged out the Caballeros 3-2 for which the team can thank Soto-Balin, who had 28 digs and four aces. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Ironwood Ridge got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 15-25, 25-20, 24-26, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Flowing Wells lost on Wednesday, don't look at Nhan Tran. Despite the final result, he had 15 digs and two assists. Akpe Apedjinou also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Ironwood Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Flowing Wells, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-15.

Coming up, Ironwood Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Walden Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Flowing Wells, they are taking a road trip to face off against Buena at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
