Softball Game Preview: Schuylerville Horses vs. South Glens Falls Bulldogs

Schuylerville hasn't had much luck against South Glens Falls recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Horses will face off against the Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Schuylerville's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Broadalbin-Perth by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Horses in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, South Glens Falls waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Rams. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Aubrey Hay was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Marissal, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Hay wasn't the only one making solid contact: South Glens Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

South Glens Falls' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Schuylerville, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything went Schuylerville's way against South Glens Falls when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Schuylerville made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Horses since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
